Itinerary

Day 1:Arrival At Kigali International Airport

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will have a rapid test if you are fully vaccinated and be picked up by your experienced driver guide. The guide will introduce you briefly to one of Africa’s cleanest cities as you are driving to you accommodation at Retreat by Heaven Journey time: 25-40 Minutes from Kigali international airport to the hotel

Day 2:Kigali City Tour

Your drive guide will pick you up from the Hotel and drive to Kigali Genocide memorial to pay homage to the victims of genocide against Tutsi.  Rwanda’s painful past has haunted the country for years; however, their impressive recovery story has turned them into an inspiration. The Kigali Genocide Memorial is the final resting place for more than 250,000 victims of the Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. It honors the memory of the more than one million Rwandans killed in 1994. The memorial also serves to educate about genocide and peace -building around the world.

Day 3:Gorilla Trekking

After an early breakfast, we will drive to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters to be allocated a gorilla tracking group at 7am. You will get a briefing by your trackers, and then you start the amazing adventure of Gorilla trekking. The tracking / trekking can entail some thorough climbing as well as hiking although when you come face to face with the tranquil yet potent Mountain Gorillas, watching them only a few meters away from you observing the group, the baby with the mothers, the gorillas partaking their everyday routine just right in front of you is all very overwhelming experience

Day 4:Golden Monkey Trekking

On this day, spend this morning searching in the lush vegetation at the foot of Mount Sabyinyo for a beautiful little creature found only in the high-altitude forests of Virunga Mountain Chain. You’ll track the monkeys with a guide and you will spend an hour with them, once you locate the monkeys (a Troup of 50 or more members), you will often need to follow them as they are often on the move jumping from tree to tree with their long tails which is really entertaining but a little difficult to photograph! We recommend setting your camera to a fast shutter-speed to allow for low light in the dense undergrowth and to better your chances of capturing the golden monkeys on film. After the experience you’ll continue with the Gorilla Guardians for enchanting cultural experience, you’ll enjoy a cultural dances and drumming, try your hand at bow and arrow, watch a local prepare herbal mixture and step into the traditional dwelling of the local king. Day 5:Tea Picking

Rwanda produces some of the world’s best teas, like those from Pfunda Tea Estate and factory. The tea estate lies below the Virunga volcano and the rich volcanic soil helps to contribute to a higher tea quality. Situated 9km from the Gisenyi city Centre. After breakfast, you will be driven to meet the local farmers and enjoy a 2-hour tea experience with pfunda Tea Cooperative, going through the whole process of tea making, all the way from picking leaves to having a hot cup of it. After the experience will drive to Serena Hotel for overnight stay. Optional Activity. Kyaking or canoeing

Day 6:Departure

After breakfast, you’ll transferred back to Kigali to connect with your international flight back home
